Allergy season is already here and it is just the first weeks of March!  Runny noses and itchy eyes make this one of the least favorable times of the year.  Luckily, there are several foods that you can eat and avoid eating in order to keep you congestion free!

  • Apple a day– Quercetin is found in apples, onions and red grapes.  This helps fight against inflammation.
  • OJ– Vitamin C gives your immune system a boost, so have some grapefruit, oranges or strawberries to keep your body at its best!
  • Garlic– Garlic also helps fight against inflammation.  If you’re not big on the taste, throw it in a sandwich so that you’re still getting the nutrients, but it’s combined with other flavors.  It is also a way to get your Vitamin C in.
  • Sunflower Seeds– Sunflower Seeds are packed with Vitamin E, which helps to alleviate allergic reactions.  They come in several flavors, so you can switch it up!  Grab a back to munch on while you’re at work.

Hopefully this will make allergy season more bearable for our Southern Oaks residents.
