Have you looked outside?  All of a sudden trees have started blooming, flowers are pushing up and the ID-10015539temperature has turned from frigid to refreshingly warm.  Spring is definitely in the air.  But along with this wonderful weather and beautiful blossoms, come the dreaded allergies.

A runny nose, constant sneezing, dry eyes — these are just a few symptoms of an allergic reaction — and if they sound familiar, you may want to learn more about how to prevent allergies.  Did you know that more than 50% of Americans suffer with allergic reactions on a daily basis? Although the statistics are quite high, the truth is that when you do a few simple things you can outsmart allergens with ease!

  • Shut those windows and doors! If you want some fresh air, go for a stroll outside rather than letting air enter the home, because pollen, dust, dog hair and other pesky allergens will enter the smallest cracks and settle inside the home.
  • Do some DIY or hire a professional to clean ducts for you. When ducts are clean, the air quality will improve and there will be much less dust floating around each room. Dust can cause respiratory problems if not dealt with, proving the importance of cleaning ducts.
  • For $30 or less you can get air filters replaced, and following a replacement, the air will be free from allergens and other irritable particles and pollutants.
