April is Stress Awareness Month and we want all of out Southern Oak Apartment  residents to take some time to de-stress and relax. Here are some simple tips to help you relax in your apartment home.

  • Take a shower or bath – A great way to ease tension in your muscles is to take a warm shower or bath. The hot water will help relax your body and put you in a better mood.
  • Read a book – If your mind is full of stressful things, give yourself a break and read a book. Find something that your interested in and give yourself a few minutes everyday to escape from the stress with a good story.
  • Exercise – A great way to beat stress is to get up and move around. Consider doing some jumping jacks, squats, push ups or go outside and go for a nice walk or run.
  • Help someone else – Sometimes the best way to deal with stress is by providing relief to someone else.  Look around you and see who needs a hand up, and then offer yours.
  • Unplug – It’s impossible to escape stress when it follows you everywhere. Cut the cord. Avoid emails and TV news. Take time each day — even if it’s for just 10 or 15 minutes — to escape from the world.
