One of the things to do in Stone Mountain is take a trip up the mountain. There’s no better way to see those sights than on a Scenic Railroad.

All aboard! Get ready for a fun ride.

You can see Stone Mountain by a train that is powered by an original locomotive from the 1940s. This antique train also has open-air cars so that you can see every scenic detail. The train ride is a five mile round trip that leaves from the Marketplace Depot in Crossroads.

The trip will take about 25-30 minutes and leaves every 40 to 45 minutes. You need to check in at the Train Depot to see the schedule. And note that the ride is wheelchair accessible.

To round out your trip plan to do a little shopping or sample some fine southern-style cooking at the Miss Katie’s, a full service restaurant. Or take advantage of the recreational area’s picnic areas after your train ride.

After you go on this fun trip, tell us about your adventure on our Facebook page.
