The holiday season is one of the busiest times of year for our Southern Oaks residents.  It’s also a busy time of year for scammers.  Don’tid-100294848 put yourself at risk this holiday season.

Here are some tips to help protect yourself from holiday scams this season:

  • Gift cards are a great gift,  but scammers have figured how to cash in on these cards.  Make sure that you purchase gift cards from reputable sources.  The best way is to get them directly from the store they’re from.
  • Don’t use public Wi-Fi to check your financial information or make purchases with your credit card.
  • If you do a lot of shopping on line, require a signature for those package deliveries.
  • Use a credit card instead of a debit card when making holiday purchases.
