Always bundle up in winter.

More than any other season, winter poses health
and safety issues that must be considered with care every year. In order to stay safe at our Southern Oaks apartments in Stone Mountain this winter, remember the following factors when you venture outdoors:

  • Always bundle up: You should wear one extra layer of clothing more than you think you are going to need. It is better to be surprised enough to remove one layer than to be caught in cold weather and develop a flu that takes three weeks to get over.
  • Observe where you are: Hidden dangers can lurk underneath calm snowy surfaces and cause slips or slides. This goes equally for sidewalks and for roads. Don’t travel faster than is absolutely necessary as the slick ice will cause you to regret it.
  • The elements: Windburn is a constant threat in winter weather, as is sunburn. Just because the temperature is cold doesn’t mean that you can’t get burnt. Protect your face and skin from these common elemental hazards especially when you look to spend time outdoors for extended periods.

Winter can be a lot of fun, but only if you take the precautions. Stay safe and Happy Holidays!
